Celebrate 100 Years of Jewish Scouting at B’Yachad – The Great Jewish Camporee
Northeast Illinois Council is proud to support and celebrate the many faith traditions represented throughout Scouting. In 2026, Jewish Scouting marks an incredible milestone — the 100th anniversary of the National Jewish Committee on Scouting.
To celebrate this centennial, Jewish Scouts and Scouters from across the country are invited to attend B’Yachad – The Great Jewish Camporee, taking place August 9–12, 2026 at beautiful Camp Aquehonga at Ten Mile River Scout Camps in New York.
Open to Scouts ages 11–21, including Scouts BSA, Venturers, and Explorers, this special event will combine the best of Scouting adventure with Jewish culture, traditions, and values. Participants will enjoy a fully active summer camp experience featuring outdoor activities, special guests, exhibits, gala evening programs, and opportunities to connect with Jewish Scouts from across the nation.
The camp will be strictly kosher, with tents and meals provided — Scouts only need to bring their personal gear and sleeping bag.
Even more exciting, if enough interest is expressed from Northeast Illinois Council families, NEIC hopes to organize a provisional troop so local Scouts and Scouters can attend together as one unit.
The event cost is $175 per person (transportation not included), making this a tremendous value for a unique national Scouting experience. Optional New York City touring and home hospitality opportunities may also be available.
