Endowment Gifts

The Northeast Illinois Council Endowment Funds support the council operations through invested funds provided through the support of our generous donors.  The principal is protected and permanently restricted; with only interest being used to support operations of the council.

General Endowment Fund

The General Endowment Fund provides support for all of the council’s programs, not for just one year or even one generation, but in perpetuity

Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Endowment Fund

The Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Endowment Fund supports annual improvements and new programs at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation.

Acorn Fund

The Acorn Fund supports every Scout’s chance to experience adventure. Your gift helps provide camp and registration assistance, expands outreach through programs like Discover Scouts, and ensures the spirit of Scouting thrives for generations to come.

Kasperson Center Endowment Fund

The Kasperson Center Endowment Fund provides for the improvement and maintenance of the facilities and property of the Kasperson Center for Scouting at Morrison Park

NESA Scholarship Fund

The NESA (National Eagle Scout Association) Scholarship Fund awards scholarships annually to Eagle Scouts who have demonstrated leadership ability in Scouting and a strong record of participation in academics and other activities.

Chris Alonzi Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Chris Alonzi Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships annually for staff members of Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation attending post-secondary institutions. The Alonzi Fund was established in memory of Chris Alonzi, an MSR staff member from 2003 to 2010.

Craig A. Sethness Training Fund

The Craig A. Sethness Training Fund provide funding assistance annually for a Scoutmaster and Senior Patrol leader pair to attend coordinated training.
