Georgian National Jamboree
The BSA is sending a contingent of Scouts and Venturers to the Georgian National Jamboree, Aug 6-16 2013, in the Republic of Georgia. The total cost of the tip is $1200/person, including travel (round trip for US-Georgia), camp fees, home hospitality, lodging, food, and contingent items. The contingent will gather for the trip on August 2. If you are interested in going with the contingent please contact Tom Hopkins, tomhbsa@gmail.com, Council International Representative for details and to complete the nomination form. Kodiak Challenge at MSR, June 22 - 29, 2013
The Kodiak Challenge is unique in that it is offered in a trek format. Kodiak is the opportunity to put the leadership skills learned in ILSC or NYLT to use in a fun way that is internalized by the participants. In other words, it is a challenging trek with simple and fun leadership skills included. Kodiak is not taught indoors or in a classroom; it is done completely outdoors using nature’s examples of leadership. Click here for more information or to register.
New Youth Protection Training Policy Effective June 1, 2012 - Adult applications must be accompanied by a valid Youth Protection Training certificate. Adult applications received without the certificate will not be accepted or processed, but returned to the applicant or unit. For more information, click here.

The training awards and keys are designed to recognize leaders for tenure, basic and continuing training, and successful performance in their leadership role. Many of Cub Scout Leader awards are now merged with other key leader and training awards. The forms and requirements have been simplified. More info…
