This Availability Chart shows when Camps Crown and Oakarro are available for daytime or overnight camping during the weekend, or when all (or parts) of them have been reserved by a unit or for an event. See below...
Whole Camp Closed: When possible, the chart will list the name of the event that has closed the campground, which means event participants and staff will be the only ones allowed at the campground. Most of these events include Friday night camping in the participant/unit cost. Your site will be assigned by the event coordinators, or you will be told what area of camp you can use. Do NOT complete the Camping Request Form to tell them which site you want. They do not have access to those responses (and they will not be forwarded). If you want to camp after the event is over, complete the Camping Request Form (link below), with "No Preference" as your site choice - none will be listed on the monthly documents during event weekends.
Shelter, Pavilion, and Fire Bowl Reserved: They will be highlighted if they have been reserved, with as many details provided as possible. Yellow is for "Unit" reservations and blue is for "Council" or "District" events.
DURING WINTER MONTHS: Your site choice will be listed on your completed reservation form and in our records, but you might be directed to another site upon arrival because of road conditions within the campground. Please contact the caretaker directly, if you want an update on your site’s “status”. Their contact information is at the top of your reservation form, and in all reservation emails from the council office.

This request form is for Camp Crown and Camp Oakarro - Once you've checked the Availability Chart (above) to see if the campground is open during your desired weekend, complete the request form. This form was created so you can provide all of the information needed for a camping reservation. Boy Scout Troops can also request use of the Pioneering Kit during their campout at Camp Crown. But to do so, they must provide the name of a person from their Unit who has completed the "Pioneering Kit Training" and will be present the whole time it is used.

Jadel Training Center
Campground Capacity: 300 people.
Located near Wilmot, Wisconsin, Camp Crown has 146 acres of rolling hills with wooded and open areas, campsites and a heated shelter make weekend campouts a memorable experience for Scouts. This campground is used for training, weekend activities, unit campouts, Camp-O-Rees, Webelos Woods, and winter camping events such as OKPIK.
Fisher Shelter: Sleeps 20-30. This garage was converted into sleeping/daytime usage space. It has heat & electricity, slab floor, but no beds or running water (winterized pump nearby). Foldable tables & chairs inside. Near latrine; has small parking lot. It can be used for sleeping, training, or as "check-in" station.The Frank Jadel Training Center: This training center is ideal for large or small conferences and meetings. Many units reserve it for Eagle Courts of Honor, Blue and Gold Banquets, and unit overnight stays. The building is equipped with a catering kitchen and has full restrooms and shower facilities, a large & small conference room, and 2 covered outdoor meeting spaces (covered wings with picnic tables). The large conference room has sound-proof dividing walls to make 3 sections; each fits 60-70 for training purposes and has its own entrance. If you are interested in making a reservation, complete the request form and email, fax, or mail it to Debi at the Northeast Illinois Council Office. Do not send payment - This is only a request form. If confirmed, you will receive a reservation form with payment instructions.
Jadel Training Center Request Form - Use this form to reserve some or all of the conference room in the Jadel Center. NOTE: If you also have a group that wants to tent camp, or if you want to reserve the (heated) Fisher Shelter (instead, or too), complete the Camping Request Form.

- Pavilion: Large, roofed, open-air picnic area (slab floor), with 24 new picnic tables. Can be used for meals, training, and/or as "check-in" station during your event. Electricity (lights & 2 outlets) available for those who reserve it. Capacity: 100-200. Note: This building cannot be used for overnight camping.
- Large Fire Bowl: For a nominal fee, you can reserve this for large group ceremonies; Capacity: About 100 people
Campground Capacity: 240 people
Located within our Council boundaries near Wadsworth, Illinois (just west of US 41), this property has 40 acres of wooded land with two ponds, a large open field, campsites, and an open-sided Pavilion. We offer sites for your units' weekend camp-outs, and other scouting events. Special Needs Day, Tiger Safari, Scout Reach Day, Webelos Woods, and other Scouting events keep the woods filled with the sounds of Scouts having fun year-round.
Camp Oakarro Picnic Donation Form - Picnic tables are always a great investment for our campgrounds. Use the form to help us maintain a great campground for our scouting families.
MA-KA-JA-WAN OFF-SEASON: Cabin camping is available during the long weekends in January and February (MLK, Jr. & Presidents' Day weekends). The cost is $70 per cabin, per night. They fit 6-7 people; a minimum 2 Adult Leaders are required for each, as per YPT. Contact Debi, the council Camping and Program Assistant if you are interested [Click for member's page].

The 2017 merit badge information will be available soon. NOTE: If your Scout is at summer camp in 2017, you can reserve a tent site in Wabaningo during that week. Cabins are now being used by camp staff, so they are no longer available.
Camp Dan Beard - STATUS (200 N Portwine Road Northbrook, Illinois 60062) - We no longer take camping reservations for Camp Dan Beard. The Cook County Forest Preserve has taken possession of their property, and should be almost done with renovation. All future reservations will be done with/through them.
